If you have launched Resolve after you have the iMac acting as a second screen, and the Dual Screen menus are grayed out, then apparently Resolve does not think that's an actual second screen. You need to be in Edit, Fairlight, Colour or Deliver to apply a Data Burn-In. By default Resolve opens to the Cut page when starting a new project, meaning people like .... T595+limited

If its greyed out with the recycle logo.. you may have a GPU resource issue. Lets start with one node first and make sure you can select that. Then add a second and see if that works.
